at Indian Rocks Baptist Church

Two identical services on Sunday which will feature combined musicians from our choir, orchestra, and band followed by an encouraging message from Pastor Aaron Filippone.

When you look at Good Friday, on the surface, it doesn't seem that "good."
It marks the day in history when Jesus was crucified and buried.
His friends, family, and followers had to be so heartbroken and hopeless that weekend!
But we know what they didn't - that Sunday was coming!

XLR8 is a week filled with new friends, friendly competition, and the Gospel! This year our theme is "Equipped", talking about the importance of following Jesus here, there, and everywhere. We hope that students currently in grades 6-8 will join us Monday- Thursday and Sunday morning for our final day.

Our students will get the opportunity to start the mornings off with chapel and a rally with food and games, to then go and serve in our elementary VBS with all aspects from leading groups to help with worship and such. Then we will end the day with a debrief of what God is teaching them through serving and crazy groups games/ challenges.

Registration deadline is May 7 at midnight. Space is limited and there will be no late or day of registrations.

Since their first engagement together as musicians for a church camp in Petersburg, Michigan in August, 1986 until now, the ministry God has given Phil & Kim has expanded and flourished until it is a full-time livelihood that involves their entire family. Their boundaries of influence have expanded until they have sung and played all over the United States (as well as internationally) into their 33rd year of ministry. Their constant, persistent attention to cutting-edge arranging, musical excellence, and a proper balance of spiritual emphasis are the keys to success God has helped them tap. Phil & Kim’s entire purpose is to give the talent God has loaned them back to their Creator as a sacrifice of praise.

GOSPEL MUSIC LEGEND, BILL GAITHER TAKES THE BRIGHTER THE LIGHT TOUR TO INDIAN ROCKS BAPTIST CHURCH THIS SPRING

Multi-Grammy Award winning recording artist, Bill Gaither will present the Brighter The Light Tour to 20 cities during the Spring of 2023, as he brings his multi-award winning group, The Gaither Vocal Band to Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Largo, FL on February 11,2023.

For nearly half a century, Gaither, a multiple Grammy and Dove award winner, has been a musical trailblazer. His reputation as a performer, songwriter and mentor for newly-discovered artists is known world-wide. His beloved series of Homecoming CDs and DVDs continues to top the sales charts and attract an ever-increasing audience. Honors and accolades have flowed his way in bunches, including his most recent Grammy nomination for Best Roots Gospel Album of the Year for the Gaither Vocal Band Let’s Just Praise The Lord recording.

Taking the stage with Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band, featuring Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles and Reggie Smith, will be popular female vocalist, Ladye Love Smith and talented male vocalist, Gene McDonald, as well as Gaither’s musical entourage, comprised of Kevin Williams, Matthew Holt and Michael Rowsey.

The 2023 Spring Tour affords Gaither the opportunity continue to share the message he has been proclaiming for more than six decades. It’s that desire to spread the message of hope through music that keeps the 86-year old Indiana native thriving. “You know this world has never been very stable,” Gaither shares, “and according to God’s Word, it’s not going to be stable. We are called to be God’s people in the midst of an unstable culture. So the question is, how do we live out the power of love and grace? Do we really believe that love is the most powerful force on earth? Can we trust that the darker the night, the brighter the light? Our call is just simply to shine. The little song we learned in Sunday School was so, so true. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. I believe that message can change the world. The darker the night, the brighter the light.”

The Volunteer Ministry is a great opportunity for members of our church to get involved at Indian Rocks. There are many activities and functions that take place during the year that would be impossible if it were not for the help of our church family.

What should a volunteer look like? I Corinthians 12:22 says “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” They should look peaceful and content. They should look like a part of the body of Christ – Eager – Enthusiastic and effective.

Amos - Tuesday Evening Women's Bible Study

Amos is often called a prophet of doom! Through his pronouncements of judgment, we can see what happens when we don’t live the God life. Yet, within each bleak condemnation, is a tacit invitation to seek God so we can live the good life. Amos is promoting the God life, and the God life is the good life!

Through this study, you’ll be invited to live assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerful, and hopeful. Ultimately, you’ll be invited to “seek God and live” (Amos 5:4).

When you join me for this eight-session video-based Bible study on Tuesday, January 17 at 6:30 in the Education Center room 252, you’ll learn to:

Uncover the connection between the God life and the good life.

Learn how God’s care for us prompts us to care for others.

Break hope-stealing habits to reverse self-defeating choices.

Unearth the gems hidden within one of the most overlooked books in the Bible.

So, my friend, you don’t have to be intimidated by the book of Amos. We’ll study it together!

Join us for a delicious Sunday brunch on May 7th after the second service! Our menu includes a variety of options to suit any taste, such as traditional Western casserole, bacon or sausage, home fries, a scone, and fresh fruit. We also have a grab-and-go option featuring the Sunrise Cuban, a traditional Cuban topped with a fried egg and served with tots.

If you're looking for something sweet, we have Raspberry cream cheese stuffed French toast served with a side of fruit, and for something savory, we have Ham cups filled with spinach, shredded cheese, and an egg served with fresh fruit. Our featured entrée is Country apple pie cinnamon rolls served with a side of bacon or sausage, and we also have Grilled andouille sausage with peppers and onions served over cheesy grits with a side of fresh fruit.

Remember to check out our assorted salads and parfait cups in the galley cooler and our assorted muffins, pastries, and scones. And, of course, we have a complimentary drink station with orange juice, apple juice, coffee, and water. For the full menu, click the link provided. Come enjoy a delicious brunch with us and start your Sunday off right!

Indian Rocks Baptist Church One Wednesday a month from 6:45-8:00 in the Education Center room 262 Nathaniel’s Hope Buddy Break is a free kids program where kids with special needs (VIP kids) make new friends, have fun playing games, hear and see great children’s stories, videos, music and more!

Siblings have fun too! Meanwhile, their caregivers get a break from their caregiving responsibilities, usually for three hours. Buddy Break is a growing outreach to the VIP community done in partnership with churches across the nation. Indian Rocks Baptist Church is one of those partners and provides “Buddies” who are screened and trained, then paired one-on-one with a VIP during Buddy Break.

No previous experience is necessary, just a loving heart and open arms. Buddies are volunteers who are at least 14 years of age and have been screened and trained through a two-hour “Buddy Training 101” class. Indian Rocks Baptist Church is excited to be able to offer this program to the community. If you would like to be a Buddy, please register at the link.

This is one of our favorite nights of the year! It’s fun, it’s free and of course, there will be food!

Jesus had a heart for the next generation. So much so, He said the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who have childlike faith. It's our desire to help grow this generation's love for Jesus, and help them know how much they are deeply loved by their Heavenly Father. As a parent, it's your calling to disciple and train your child in the way that they should go (Proverbs 22:6). It's our honor to partner with you in that calling as we create environments and opportunities for your child to flourish and see the gospel on display.

This coming Sunday is one of those opportunities! We can't wait to celebrate kids who have made decisions to follow Christ through baptism and be led in worship by our kid's praise choir with the 10:45 band. We’ll also have a special message for all ages. It's going to be a great morning of fellowship and celebration of our kid's ministry as one big church family.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • This Sunday, January 29th, we will have one combined worship service at 10:45 am only in the worship center.
  • The combined service schedule means we won’t have life groups.
  • We will not have Saturday service this weekend.

Grief Share is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. January 16th - April 3rd, 2023. No Registration Required.

We will be using Discovery Bible Study (DBS) method to study the book of Romans.
